Hindu priests pray for Trump win

A group of Hindu priests in the Indian capital New Delhi held prayers for US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Sunday, hoping that he will succeed and win at next week's presidential election.

"Donald Trump is the only leader who can bring world peace," said Hindu priest Swami Vedmurstinand Saraswati who performed the ceremony.

Saraswati, who also offered prayers for Trump following an assassination attempt in July, said the Hindu community supported the former president because he has "has vowed to protect Indians living in the US and Hindus all over the world".

Trump, who served as America's 45th president from 2017 to 2021, is seeking a return to office.

Paddleboard guide jailed over trip tragedy

A former Welsh police officer who who led four people to their deaths in a paddleboarding tragedy in the UK has been sentenced to 10.5 years in prison for manslaughter. Nerys Bethan Lloyd, 39, had previously pleaded guilty in Swansea Crown Court to four counts of gross negligence manslaughter and failing to discharge her duty for the October 30, 2021 incident. The River Cleddau in Haverfordwest was raging after heavy rains when Lloyd, who operated a side business called the Salty Dog, made the ill-fated decision to lead a group of beginners toward a dangerous weir where the churning waters created a deadly undertow.

President Donald Trump is putting his “touches” on the White House with new flagpoles, new artwork, an overhaul of the Oval Office decor and possibly covering up the lawn in the Rose Garden. Trump, a former real estate developer and hotelier, said he is adding two “beautiful” flagpoles to the grounds to fly the American flag in about a week. The Republican president recently hung new artworks featuring himself, including a rendering of him with his fist raised after last year’s attempted assassination in Pennsylvania.
