Caution still urged as fires ease
Warnings have been downgraded for fires burning in multiple states but emergency services are urging caution as hot, gusty conditions continue.
A grassfire in central Victoria's Willowmavin was burning out of control on Saturday evening but an emergency warning for residents to take shelter had been downgraded to advice level.
More than 30 emergency units were fighting a blaze in Willomavin, between Lancefield and Kilmore, north of Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.

Tasmania Fire Service has declared a total ban for the entire state from Sunday.
"I urge every member of the community to help our firefighting agencies by complying with the fire ban and if you've had a fire in the past week, please check it now to ensure it is fully extinguished," State Fire Commander Matt Lowe said.
Watch-and-act warnings are in place, with residents in Tikkawoppa told to prepare to leave, while those in Pieman Heads and Conical Rocks have been urged to take shelter.
"If you're in the areas of Tikkawoppa or Pieman Heads, Colonial Rocks and surrounds, it is imperative you follow the directions given for your area, review your bushfire survival plan now and prepare to take action to stay safe," Cmdr Lowe said.
Water-bombing is continuing at the fires in the state's west and northwest, which have burned 94,000 hectares of forest and world heritage areas since dry lightning sparked multiple blazes in early February.
"Our three fire agencies are continuing to work together in a dedicated inter-agency response to the complex of fires on the state's west coast, and over the coming days they will monitor for any potential outbreaks," Lowe said.
An emergency warning is also in place for a bushfire burning in South Australia's Paris Creek, with those in the area urged to leave immediately.
